Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We have been at 2236 NE Broadway St in Portland for 21 years. I started framing for an artist in 1972 as a kid helping him prepare his paintings for exhibition.
What is your primary product or service?
Custom picture framing is our main service and we have a 1500 sq ft art gallery attached to the framing operation.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Art and exhibitions has always been my interest from when I was a child. In high school I worked at the local art center helping with preparation and helping the curator producing art exhibits. In college I took museum studies and gallery management along with studio and art history classes.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We work with a lot of designers and we do super custom projects for them and their clients. Doing the same for artists and collectors, we design with archival materials to enable art to live into the future. We are very sensitive to what a frame does to one's ability to see the art.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Portland is our main location. In 2014 we opened 170 E Arenas Road, Palm Springs CA with full custom framing services and art gallery.
Provide detailed directions to your location
In Portland we are at 2236 NE Broadway St at NE 24th, the first part of the one-way after NE 24th. We are on the left side of the street in the middle of the block next to Eyes on Broadway.

All major credit cards and debit cards.
Which areas do you service?
Central Portland metro area.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Brian Marki is the owner.
What are your hours of operation?

What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The one we hear all the time, "We love what you do for us" is my favorite.
