William Rutherford has over 30 years of investment experience. He has managed money for individuals, businesses, pension funds, and institutional investors with up to $14 billion in assets. He has experienced several investment cycles. He has been Treasurer for the state of Oregon and Chair of the Oregon Investment Council. He was President of two investment companies with offices in New York, London, Tokyo, Paris, and Frankfurt, and has managed portfolios for clients such as AT&T and GM. His companies invested in equities and fixed income in the US and 22 world markets. Mr. Rutherford is making his investment expertise available to select investors.

We are a registered investment adviser offering investment services to individuals, retirement funds, and foundations. Our accounts are all separately managed according to each clients' objectives and risk tolerance. Our accounts may be equities, fixed income and international or a combination. We maintain a well diversified portfolio to reduce risk.

How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our investment process is flexible enough to recognize the needs of our individual clients. Rutherford Investment Management will work with clients to develop an investment strategy tailored to their needs. The portfolio strategy will be based upon the client's financial needs and risk preference. The Rutherford investment philosophy is to invest long-term in growing companies in the best sectors, with low turnover and sufficient diversity to reduce risk.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are located in Portland, Oregon and do not have plans to expand.
What type of payments do you accept?
Client fees are based on the assets under management so that our interests are aligned with the client's. There are no hidden fees, everything is transparent. The fees are paid quarterly in arrears based on the account value on the last day of the quarter. The fees can be withdrawn automatically from the investment account or a bill can be mailed or emailed to the client.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The company is 100% owned by William D. Rutherford, and is operated by Mr. Rutherford and his staff

We are open 9-5 Monday through Friday, except for Holidays
